The AME FORGOTTEN WOMEN ASSOCIATION - A.M.E. was founded in 2020 with the purpose of providing dignity to women inside prisons and, after their incarceration, reintegrating them into society. We began our work at the Regional Women's Prison Unit in Luziânia/GO with an average of 80 monthly services, and in 2022 we entered the Federal District Women's Penitentiary, which houses around 600 women deprived of their liberty. In 2023, we advanced and started 40 monthly services at the Formosa/GO Public Jail. In 3 years of work at UPRFEM in Luziânia/GO, the results were as follows: in 2021 and 2022, there were no recurrences, and in 2023, only two occurrences. This represents a significant transformation in public security. This impact is the result of our 8 programs based on 3 pillars: providing dignity, generating new opportunities through training, and promoting social reintegration. Our goal is to be present in all women's prisons in Brazil so that our country is recognized as having the lowest recidivism rate in the world.
